What great fun we had at the Sartell Rotary Golf 4 Orphans Event. I had my worries. When I woke up, the sky was dark and it was starting to rain. I had envisioned a sunny day with friends on the golf course. And, that’s how it turned out! The clouds and rain moved out and our first annual Golf 4 Orphans went off without a hitch. Thanks to the Sartell Rotary Club and our great committee, Kim Larsen, Kerstine Herda and Gina Skalicky, we had lots of teams, volunteers and generous sponsors. This was an amazing First Annual Event. The venue was wonderful, Glen Everhart our entertainment was delightful, the volunteers met every need. And the weather cooperated. Best of all, our cause struck a chord with individuals and businesses around the community and I am so grateful to all our new partners. We really are making the lives of orphans a bit brighter.

Best of all, our overall efforts to build safe shelter for the orphans is moving full speed ahead. With a successful golf tournament behind us, now the Texas Travelers are moving into action. Christina finished the second arcitectural draft of the Children’s Home, Danielle Lewis and her friends are organizing a fund raiser this weekend in Phoenix with a Poetry Open Mic Event. The Houston event “An Evening With The Angels” is July 23rd and finally, Monique is mobilizing her friends for a concert in New York in September.

All of this…all of you lovely, generous people, all of your efforts big and small…all simply to provide a home with love for sick kids in Cameroon. My heart is filled with joy. I somehow know God is smiling in the heavens.
