Today, I’ve been meditating on a few thoughts as I read the myriad of posts, emails and direct mail campaigns for Giving Tuesday Dec. 3rd. I admit to having sent our 200 Orphanages, so I’m one of them! But, in our Christmas letter, I used a powerful quote and it’s staying with me:

“Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.” Mother Teresa

With this quote swirling about in my head, I’ve decided giving is really about love, now isn’t it?

Soon after, I received an email from a friend who had an accident and is in need of help with medical bills. And, I stumble on beautiful videos of foster kids being found by forever families, and then hear about prayer services for civil strife in countries like Haiti and Cameroon. I read the news about the floods in East Africa and earthquakes in Albania. I am overwhelmed by the troubles in the world and these are only the stories I am hearing about. Sigh.

We all feel the same, I think. But, even so, please don’t become weary in giving.

The needs are great. “We can’t do it all, but we can all do something.”

Spread the love!
